Isolaz Light-based Treatment

Isolaz Acne Treatment: Pore Cleansing and Bacteria Zapping

Many of our patients undergo treatment with the

Isolaz  laser  acne treatment.  This acne-fighting

laser  treatment  has  become  one of  the  most

popular   acne   treatments   available.      Isolaz

treatment  at  Boston  Acne  Specialists  is  often

combined with photodynamic therapy, though the

Isolaz is very effective on its own.  It combines a

vacuum  that  dislodges  all of  the material stuck

inside  your  pores  with  a   broad-spectrum

antibacterial light that kills the p. acnes bacteria.

Dr. Ishoo notes that “The Isolaz is a great treatment for acne; it not only treats active acne, but it prevents future acne from forming.”  There is no downtime with the Isolaz Laser treatment and many patients feel that their skin is immediately smoother and more radiant.  Our Acne specialists can determine the best Isolaz regimen for you.

Isolaz is a non-invasive treatment for acne and rosacea. This high-tech pimple eliminator uses “photopneumatics,” which combines intense pulsed light (IPL) energy and suction. The combo first lifts up the dirt, blackheads, and oil trapped inside sebaceous glands and then destroys pore-dwelling bacteria with the IPL. Isolaz decreases the frequency and severity of breakouts as well as oil production.

What Isolaz is Good For

Isolaz is a good treatment for mild to moderate acne breakouts, especially those that are accompanied by pustules, comedones (bumpy blackheads and whiteheads), and oily skin. The device can also reduce sun damage, and enlarged pores. Isolaz is safe for the face, chest, shoulders, and back – all frequent breeding grounds for acne.

Who it works for

Although the intense pulsed light device can be adjusted for skin type. Isolaz works well for patients whose skin is unresponsive to, or too sensitive for, powerful acne-diminishing drugs like Accutane.

Recommended age range

People of any age can be safely treated with Isolaz.

When will I see results?

Skin should improve noticeably during the first 48 hours after treatment. During this time, you’ll see a decrease in redness and discoloration, and a drying and flattening of acne blemishes.

How long does Isolaz treatment last?

Like all acne treatments, Isolaz is not a permanent solution for breakouts and blemishes. Four to six treatments should generate positive changes in your skin, but maintenance sessions will be needed to keep skin clear.

Key benefits of Isolaz

Isolaz can improve acne that’s been unresponsive to a variety of other acne treatments. Isolaz claims to clear up acne in up to 85% of patients.

Licensed uses

Isolaz was approved by the FDA in 2007 for severe acne reduction, including pustules and comedones (whiteheads and blackheads).
